People know me as Johnny Luu, but there are a few Johnny Luu's in the world. So, to not confuse you as to which Johnny Luu I am, I am The Johnny Luu.
'The' is actually my first name. It's on my passport.
I'm a freelance animator and After Effects artist based in Brighton. I'm a British born Chinese boy who grew up in the Rhondda Valleys and Cardiff, Wales. I used to have a taffy accent so thick it could be used to bludgeon, now it's kinda neutral and only the keenest of ears can spot the enunciated Welsh-ness of certain words and phrases.

Growing up I always fancied the idea of becoming a Marine Biologist. Unfortunately, many sea creatures scare the bejeezus out of me. Also, I'm not that clever. So, instead, I pursued my creative interests.

After graduating from the University of Wales, Newport in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Animation, I promptly moved to London to begin my freelancing career. I have been freelancing ever since. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to have worked on a variety of different projects from online advertising banners and internal corporate films, to television commercials and broadcast children's entertainment programmes. I have worked happily as a well placed cog in a machine as well as handling entire projects myself.

My most accomplished skills are in After Effects and it's supporting suite of digital creative goodness, Photoshop and Illustrator. Although I do less of it these days, I do have several years of experience in online advertising and, when required, my previous Flash Design skills have translated quite well into using Google Web Designer and Sizmek Ad Builder.
My general computing and word processing is excellent, I am a good team player, work well under pressure and display outstanding leadership skills and resourcefulness on practically a daily basis.
